The first edition of the Copenhagen Bridge Invitational was held in November 2010. The main idea of the tournament was to revive the glorious top 16 tournaments known from previous decades.
The event is held every second year. In the 2013 and 2015-editions the tournament was extended to 20 pairs, and in 2015 the side event Radisson Blu Scandinavia Imp Pairs was added. Judging by the feedback from the participants not to mention the massive coverage from the media, the tournament is a huge success.
Especially the initial Pro/am tournament attracts the attention of the Danish media since His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark participates with an international bridge star. We are thrilled to welcome His Royal Highness back in 2017.
The Danish poker star Gus Hansen has participated in the Pro/am-tournament every time. The unpredictable poker- and bridgeplayer won the pro/am in 2010, partnering Irish Star Tom Hanlon. In 2015 he also played in the side event with Swedish world junior champion Ola Rimstedt. So maybe in time we will see him in the main event?
